GS 700: Thesis & Dissertation Writing
This multi-disciplinary course is for Masters and Ph.D. students who are currently writing either the proposal for their degree project or a chapter of their thesis or dissertation. Class sessions cover the conventions for each chapter of the thesis/dissertation across disciplines. Students write their proposals or chapters and receive feedback on their argument, organization, and editing matters through peer review and individual conferences with the instructor.
GS 750: Introduction to Graduate Writing
This multi-disciplinary course is for students who want to hone their reading and writing skills early in their graduate degree programs. In this class, students will have the opportunity to improve both their academic writing and their research skills as they write a literature review or a proposal. Emphasis is placed on conventions of scholarly writing and organizational strategies as well as grammar, editing, and usage.
GS 760: Dissertation Workshop
This multidisciplinary course is for students who are writing theses, dissertations, as well as other graduate texts. Students receive feedback in peer review workshops as well as individual conferences with the instructor. Mini-lessons help students avoid typical roadblocks, stay motivated, and revise/edit their own texts. The meeting time will be scheduled based on the availability of the instructor and students.
